Ok, I’ll admit that I first thought about reading this book because of my love for RENT. And then, years later, Anthony Rapp came to talk while he was in town for the RENT tour. (yes, I did go see it. Amazing.) He was doing a signing, so I thought I would buy his book for him to sign…and read it too! It was a great, fast, read. The process of how the show emerged from a workshop to a broadway production was extrememly interesting. But really the book is only 1/3 about the production and other acting related experiences. The rest is about his relationships - family and otherwise - and the death of his mother. Beautifully written, heartfelt, and inspiring.
